Technical Diver Training
Recent changes in training and the concept of sport diving limits has opened up new dive sites and activities for divers. Exploring shipwrecks or reefs beyond the traditional 130 ffw limit, or extending the bottom time into decompression allows divers unlimited opportunity for adventure. If you are seeking adventure beyond the traditional recreational limits, we highly recommend the progressive technical training route.
Aquaventure Dive & Photo Center is the leader in Minnesota providing the most comprehensive training with experienced Tech Instructors. Offering nitrox since 1993. On site gas blending from nitrox to trimix, oxygen, argon fills, haskel gas boosters, and gas transfer bagging. Our service center will provide the most complete tech service available, including oxygen compatible regulator service, cylinder cleaning & oxygen service, rigging and custom design. We offer the largest selection of tech gear and hardware in the area including: OMS, Dive Rite, AUL, Poseidon, Apex...
Tech Instructor Trainer Ron Benson is constantly seeking new challenges, improving his knowledge and skills. Recently Ron has completed a cave course with CCR and finds that it supports his views on modern tech diving. "The future of tech diving is here, Closed Circuit Rebreathers will replace the bulky twin cylinders required for many deep or penetration dives. Anyone who is seeking extended range diving should look at the value of rebreathers compared to the investment and limitations of open circuit scuba."
Quality and experience is guaranteed when you train with Aquaventure Dive & Photo Center, in fact we ask that you make a personal visit to discuss our background and qualifications. In return we expect you to be realistic in your request for technical training. From Basic Nitrox to Trimix there are several levels that require time in the water, i.e. dives to be logged, that cannot be skipped. If you are comfortable and ready to proceed then we will work with you to see your desires fulfilled. Choose IANTD or TDI Certifications.
Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures
Encriched Air Trimix
Enriched Air Trimix I
Recreational Trimix Diver Level I provides the tools to minimize the ill effects of nitrogen while scuba diving. Enriched Air Trimix has the advantages of Enriched Air, with the added benefit of Helium eliminating Nitrogen Narcosis. Divers may also notice an increased ease of breathing at depth since helium is a lighter gas and would have a lower density factor.
This gas is designed for recreational divers up to 130 fsw with an oxygen / helium blend of 30% / 30%, no required decompression stops allowed, and a recommended maximum PO2 of 1.5 ATA.
The prerequisite is Basic Nitrox, and Advanced Diver -
Course Fee: $199 + Deco Procedures textbook $29.95, IANTD Text $39.95, & cert. processing
(Does not include class materials, equipment or gas fills, 2 required dives)
Enriched Air Trimix II
Recreational Trimix Diver Level II provides the tools to minimize the ill effects of nitrogen while scuba diving. Enriched Air Trimix has the advantages of Enriched Air, with the added benefit of Helium eliminating Nitrogen Narcosis. Divers may also notice an increased ease of breathing at depth since helium is a lighter gas and would have a lower density factor. This course includes certifications for Tec Lite and Advanced Enriched Air Trimix course
This gas is designed for recreational divers up to 160 fsw with an oxygen / helium blend of 25% / 30%, required decompression stops may not exceed 15 minutes, a recommended maximum PO2 of 1.5 ATA, recommended maximum END 80 FSW.
The prerequisite is Level I Recreational Trimix
Course Fee: $299 + Trimix Level 1 textbook $29.95, Tec Lite Student Manual $43, & cert. processing
(Does not include equipment or gas fills, 4 required dives)
Combined Enriched Air Trimix Level I & II
Combine both levels of Recreational Trimix Diver Levels I and II to minimize the ill effects of nitrogen while scuba diving. Enriched Air Trimix has the advantages of Enriched Air, with the added benefit of Helium eliminating Nitrogen Narcosis. Divers may also notice an increased ease of breathing at depth since helium is a lighter gas and would have a lower density factor.
This gas is designed for recreational divers up to 160 fsw with an oxygen / helium blend of 25% / 30%, required decompression stops may not exceed 15 minutes, a recommended maximum PO2 of 1.5 ATA, recommended maximum END 80 FSW.
The prerequisite is Basic Nitrox, and Advanced Diver
Course Fee: $399 + Deco Procedures & Level 1Trimix textbook $29.95 each, Tec Light manual $43, & cert. processing
(Does not include equipment or gas fills, 6 required dives Level I & II)
Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures
Advanced Nitrox
This course examines the use of EAN 21 through 100% (oxygen) for optimal mixes to a depth of 130fsw/40msw. The object of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for utilizing EAN 21 through 100% (oxygen) for dives not requiring staged decompression. (Decompression techniques may be combined with this course at the discretion of the instructor).
Decompression Procedures
This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. Learn how to plan and execute dives that require staged decompression to depth not exceeding 150 fsw / 45 msw. Course covers extensive equipment configuration, deco techniques, review of pressure formulas / bubble troubles, psychological aspects, dive tables-computers for planning. Recommend combine with Advanced Nitrox.
These courses are typically combined together to provide the student with the skill necessary to completed decompression diving.
